Playproof

Privacy Notice

Last updated 31 August 2026

This is a short notice because there is very little to describe. Playproof does its work on your computer. Your music files are never sent anywhere.

Your music never leaves your machine

Converting audio happens entirely inside your web browser, using your own processor. There is no server that receives your files. We never see your filenames, your folder structure, your tags, or your audio.

This is not only a promise. The browser enforces it. Playproof is served with a Content Security Policy that permits it to contact exactly one address on the internet, and that address is the licence checker described below. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools and look at the response headers, or read the source code, which is public.

You can also disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded. Playproof will keep working.

Who is responsible

NETTVIS AS
Organisation number 934 445 562
Registered in Norway
playproof@nettvis.no

NETTVIS AS is the data controller for the limited processing described here. Write to the address above with any question about your data, including a request to see, correct or delete it.

What is actually processed

If you never buy a licence

Nothing about you is collected. There is no account, no sign-up, no email address, and no tracking cookie. Playproof stores your last-used settings in your browser's local storage so it can remember them next time. That data stays in your browser and is never transmitted.

If you enter a licence key

Your licence key is sent to Lemon Squeezy so it can be checked. That request contains the key and nothing else. It does not contain your name, your files, or anything about your library.

The result is stored in your browser so the check does not have to be repeated. If Lemon Squeezy returns your name with the licence, it is shown in the app so you can see the key was recognised, and it is kept in your browser only.

If you buy a licence

The purchase itself is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as merchant of record. They collect what they need to take payment and issue an invoice, which typically includes your name, email address, country and payment details. We do not receive your payment details. We can see order records for our own product, which include your email address and country, so that we can provide support and handle refunds.

Lemon Squeezy processes this data as an independent controller under their own privacy policy. They are the right place to ask about payment data.

If you visit the website

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It does not track you between websites and does not identify you. Because no cookies or similar technologies are used for this, no consent banner is required and we do not show one.

Cloudflare also serves the site, and like any web host processes the technical information needed to deliver a page, including IP addresses. This is done to operate and secure the service.

If you write to us

We keep your message and email address so we can reply and so we can remember the conversation if you write again. Nothing more.

Legal basis

How long anything is kept

Order records are kept as long as accounting law requires, which in Norway is five years after the end of the financial year. Support emails are kept while they are useful and deleted when they are not. Analytics are aggregate counts and are not tied to you at all.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, which applies in Norway through the EEA agreement, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and ask for your data in a portable form.

Write to playproof@nettvis.no. We will answer within one month. You will not be charged and you do not need to give a reason.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), or to the supervisory authority in the EEA country where you live. We would rather you told us first, but that is your choice, not a condition.

Transfers outside the EEA

Lemon Squeezy and Cloudflare are established outside the EEA and may process data there. Both rely on the safeguards permitted under Chapter V of the GDPR, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Your audio is not part of this, because it never leaves your computer.

Children

Playproof is a tool for preparing music libraries and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters to you, we will say so on the website rather than quietly editing the page.
